My Cameras Country Expedition

Hello everybody! It has been a few days since I've seen the face of the internet. This week has been busy.... from getting everything arranged for uni to technicians replacing our old internet to being out of town for the majority of this week.

Remember how I was telling you guys in my last post about buying my new camera? Well I did!
I bought my new camera literally yesterday and I'm still trying to work on it and figure out all the new features on it, but all day today I was just messing with my camera around my house and took some pictures.

Basically these photos are just testers because I was trying to figure out my new lenses and such, but I couldn't do much more than nature shots because it was raining and I live in the country.... and there's not much along the lines of exciting when it comes to the dull country life.

I've decided that each week I will post all the pictures I have taken throughout the week and stick them on my blog every Sunday (The end of the week). I can already tell this is going to be cool :D

(Little side note: It was icky outside today... rain, grey skies, and all, so the lighting on the photos were not all that great... still don't know how to fix the lighting in my setting just yet)

What's On The Bookshelf: Spaceships And Plagues... Say What...?

Every week I have a new list of books that I need to read, and this week I've only got two.

The first book on my list this week to read is called Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin.

"Everything is in ruins.
A devastating plague has decimated the population. And those who are left live in fear of catching it as the city crumbles to pieces around them.
So what does Araby Worth have to live for?
Nights in the Debauchery Club, beautiful dresses, glittery make-up . . . and tantalizing ways to forget it all.
But in the depths of the club—in the depths of her own despair—Araby will find more than oblivion. She will find Will, the terribly handsome proprietor of the club. And Elliott, the wickedly smart aristocrat. Neither boy is what he seems. Both have secrets. Everyone does.
And Araby may find something not just to live for, but to fight for—no matter what it costs her."

I am almost finished with this book, I was so excited to read it cause this books seemed right down my alley. It contains a bunch of weirdness... like people bleeding from their eyes because of the plague to people getting poisoned. Its has that Steampunk vibe to it which I love. I love this books for its horrificness, but I'm still not positive if I like it more than that. After I finish this book I will do another post on telling you how I feel about this book and so on.

NOW! This next book I have heard crazy talk about and all of it is good.
After I read Masque of the Red Death I am switching lanes real fast to a Syfy type book called Across the Universe by Beth Revis.

WHAT IS LIFE?! WHAT IS THIS COVER?! IT'S BEAUTIFUL IS WHAT IT IS!
This is book cover envy right here!
So generally I'm not a Syfy type of person alot of the time, but this book may have me change my mind.
Here is the summary:
" Amy is a cryogenically frozen passenger aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed. She expects to wake up on a new planet, 300 years in the future. But fifty years before Godspeed's scheduled landing, Amy's cryo chamber is unplugged, and she is nearly killed.
Now, Amy is caught inside an enclosed world where nothing makes sense. Godspeed's passengers have forfeited all control to Eldest, a tyrannical and frightening leader, and Elder, his rebellious and brilliant teenage heir.
Amy desperately wants to trust Elder. But should she? All she knows is that she must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets before whoever woke her tries to kill again."

This just sounds cool to me...
I am a little behind on this series because there are three books already.
If you look on Beth Revis website for Across the Universe, SHE LITERALLY HAS PICTUREs OF THE SPACESHIP AND PLACES INSIDE OF IT! Like I said.... awesome.

Also, people have been asking me when I am going to do a vlog, and what is it going to be about. This week I'm going out to buy a new camera because my last one had a meltdown and broke, RIP little buddy. I was waiting to do a vlog until after I had gotten my camera because my laptop doesn't have the greatest camera and neither does any other technology I own.
What am I going to be vlogging first?
I am not even sure. On my vlog I'm doing everything from fashion and beauty to adventures and books. I feel for my first vlog though its either going to be a beauty or a book review. I am leaning more toward book review. If I do a book review it is going to go over these books I talked about today.

Sorry for such the long post!

Manicure Monday: For The Love Of Carnations!

The start of a new week.... but that's okay because it's Manicure Monday!
I use to do MM's a while ago and the motivation of doing it just wasn't enough anymore, but now I'm back to doing it.

I am never shy when it comes to my nails, so any colors or designs I'm up to try. This week I decided to keep my nails pretty simple, but I added a pop of color. I wear a lot of blacks and whites, so I always leave it to my nails to really finish off my look... it's the final touch and that pop of color really is a attention getter.

The pink I'm wearing this week is by O.P.I and it is called Suzi's Hungary Again!. I bought this nail polish in the Euro Centrale collection, which comes with many other beautiful colors that I also bought.

I love this pink because it reminds me of pink carnations, and lately I have been inspiring a lot of my looks from flowers.

Who doesn't love flowers?

Sexy Sirens And Dark Spell Casters

Okay, I am super excited for this post because it is not only a book talk post, but also a fashion post.... say whaaa?!

Yeah, that's what I said.

Today I watched Beautiful Creatures, which was inspired by the book Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. I have not read any part of the Beautiful Creatures series yet, but I did buy the book long before there was even discussion of a movie. I have no clue why I haven't read this series yet and I am a complete idiot for not doing so, but when I bought it, it made its way right into the stack of books that hang out on my coffee table (Is there a name for that?), which I refer to as "decorations".

The movie was quite amazing, but I have heard that the movie does not correlate with the book a lot, which kinda makes me sad, but that makes me all the more excited to read the book and get more insight on the actual storyline.

Here is the book with the original cover, which is beautiful I might add and looks better than the movie cover in my opinion. Its got this eerie look to it, which I believe really shows off the book.

Now here's the part where I get really excited. During this movie I could not take my eyes off Emmy Rossum, who played Ridley in the movie. She plays a Siren with hands down the best outfits!

Here are a couple photos to show you her gorgeous wardrobe during this film.

Now here is my most favorite dress by far that she rocked in the movie

I can't explain how gorgeous this dress is, and I think it's because it is such a dark look, but its ultra feminine and sexy with the lace work.

Another thing I loved about Emmy Rossum in this movie is her hair! It was this beautiful shade of red and at first it was this sleek super short cut then at other times it was beautifully long with luscious curls.

I think the reason I liked the movie so much was because of Emmy... 100% serious.

Waiting On Wednesdays: In The After (Demitria Lunetta)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am so thrilled because In The After by Demitria Lunetta is coming out June 25, 2013 which is 5 days from now! I have heard soooo much talk about this book from Tea Time with Epic Reads to many book blogs and vlogs.

This is Demitria's debut book and it is about a girl named Amy who must navigate a world taken over by things devouring mankind. Its an epic journey where Amy is in life or death situations and just when she thinks she has been rescued by this colony, she discovers that if she stays, death may come her way.

I don't know about you, but I always love a great read that deals with the ending of mankind and major suspense and action.

And to show my excitement for this book I shall provide an epic countdown!

Blood, Sweat, And The Occasional Tear

During my Senior year of high school everything was pretty much crazy; writing correlating papers, out of school activities, I mean the amount of work I doing was absolutely ridiculous. During that year, I was not active, besides being piled in school papers and staying up late so my homework was done before first period the next day. All the work I was doing and trying to follow due date schedules really stressed me out and when I'm stressed I eat. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Summer started and when I went to pull out all of my cute shorts and summer outfits... they didn't fit. I was absolutely mortified to the point where I started crying. From that point on, I told myself things are gonna have to start changing or else. Well that's what I did.

I got a membership at my local gym and at the beginning of summer started working out 5-6 days a week from anywhere to 2-4 hours a day. Its been almost a month and let me tell you... it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

I realized that if I wanted to get anywhere, the bad food has got to go. I love love love Italian food and found myself eating carb loaded foods the majority of the week. Different pastas and breads I totally eliminated from my list of foods to eat. Secondly, I eliminated all fluids except water and milk. Thirdly, I started eating small meals in 4 hour increments, so I am always full and I don't go all crazy on the amount of food I'm eating. When it comes to what I eat, I stick to alot of salads, chicken, fruits, and some veggies (I'm no sort of veggie person what so ever). I also eat a lot and I mean A LOT of sandwiches.

Going to the gym and pushing myself has definitely been a struggle. It gets tiring going to the gym everyday for a long extended time. Almost everyday I get up and I am all kinds of worn out and tired, I mean this stuff takes a toll out on you, but for the better. Also you learn to love the feeling of sore muscles. I don't know how to explain it to you, but waking up the next day and feeling something that shows proof that you're working your butt off  is worth everything you're doing.

I will be posting a part two to this post with a little bit more insight and I will keep on posting here and there some exercising tips that I learn along my journey of a fit lifestyle, cause I am right where you are... slightly clueless on this whole thing called exercise.

I'm Dauntless, How 'Bout You?

Guess what?!
First blog post for Yasmine Brooke
*Happy Dances*

Now that that is over, let me share some exciting stuff with you. Yours and my definition of exciting may or may not be totally different and off the scales, but what the heck right?!

A lot of people have been telling me about a book called Divergent by Veronica Roth (Who also has a blogspot HERE ), which also has a sequel so far named Insurgent. When Divergent was born, I kept running into it at the library or the book store and it just did not appeal to me. Let time go on a little and the walls of appeal crumbled and I went and got not only Divergent, but also Insurgent. If I was going to get into this book then I'm going to get into it 100%.

Long story short... I ripped through the first book in 2 days... it was that good. Just today I have begun the 2nd book, which Ive only gotten to chapter 6, but once again I am hooked.

I won't spill you the summary of what this book is about because if you have not heard about it yet than I highly suggest you get your butt up and go lot it out or buy it at your local bookstore (That sounded advertisey... smashing)

The cool part about Divergent is that it is being made into a movie!!!! But here comes another whirlwind for you... Entertainment Weekly showed a glimpse of Four, who's a main character in the book, being played by none other than Theo James... I hear heart palpitations in the far distance... Anyways if you want to check that article out it is HERE . (Also there are many other photos that have been reveiled which you can finding floating around the internet).

Veronica Roth announced the date in which the third installation of this series will hit book shelves, which is October 22, 2013, and it is going to be called Allegiant.
All the covers are really beautiful and become even more meaningful when you read the book, because everything on the cover represents something in the story (How freakin cool!).
Also in my little side bar on my blog I am going to put the countdown for its release there, can you see my excitement?

Last but not least, Veronica posted on her blog that there are going to be Four Divergent e-shorts, which will evolve around Four.... Did you see what she did there huh... HUH?! The post which goes into detail is right HERE.

This is my first blog post and I didn't know if doing some sort of book review on this series so far was a good idea or bad, but I had to vent. Let this post be of some kind of help as of telling you a part of who I am, like an introduction. Anyways, I hope my ranting has led you to a bookstore where these amazing books are waiting for you, and to those who have already read it, let's discuss! I want to know your thoughts on the books!
